What the power level score measures
The 0–10 score is built from five subscores, so you can see not just how strong a deck is but why:
- Speed — average mana value and fast mana (how quickly the deck can deploy its plan).
- Consistency — card selection, draw, and tutors (how reliably it finds its pieces).
- Interaction — removal and counterspells (how well it answers opponents).
- Combo threat — two-card combos present in the 99, detected against Commander Spellbook.
- Mana base — hypergeometric color math on your lands and rocks.

What's a good power level for a Commander deck?
For a casual table, a 4–6 out of 10 (Bracket 2–3) is the sweet spot — a deck that can win the fair way without oppressing the table. 7–8 (Bracket 4) is high-power, and 9–10 (Bracket 5) is competitive EDH. The right number is whatever matches your playgroup; the point of the calculator is to make that number a shared, honest reference.
How is power level different from the bracket?
The bracket is the official 1–5 permissions system (which categories of card — Game Changers, mass land denial, extra turns, two-card combos — the deck runs).
